Plan and implement all of the parish liturgical celebrations including the Parish Anniversary, Corpus Christi, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, Palm Sunday, Pentecost Sunday, Trinity Sunday, Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, and Black History.
Ministry chairs for the liturgical ministries meet after mass quarterly in September, November, January, and May. The committee chair spends approximately two - three additional hours preparing for committee meetings, typing and distributing minutes. Develop, plan and coordinate special church services
You need only the ability to work well on a team have a special interest and/or expertise in liturgy or the ability to lead and coordinate.

Liturgical ministries included within the Worship Committee are:
Duties: Prepare for Mass by setting out vessels, bread and wine, lighting altar candles; Assist the celebrant at Mass and liturgical celebrations by holding the Sacramentary, preparing the altar, helping at presentation of the gifts, carrying the cross when needed. An annual outing each year.
Time: Twice a month. Training on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month.
Special Skills: Must have made the sacrament of First Holy Communion; have a real commitment to be of service to God and the parish community; an ability to be graceful, attentive and reverent at Mass; dependability

Duties: Provides dramatization of the gospels during special liturgies

Duties: Changing the environment of the church in accord with each liturgical season. This includes the altar cloth, the altar dressing, the priest vestments for Mass and all other liturgical symbols while ensuring neatness and good order in the church.
Time: Alternating schedule

Duties: Bring the Eucharistic from Mass to the sick and homebound. Sharing with the homebound the parish community's well wishes, and latest parish news. Also, assist the priest distributing the Holy Eucharist at Mass; assist the altar servers in cleaning the vessels after Mass.
Time: One mass a month (arrive 20 minutes early), plus training.
Special Skills: Love and reverence for the Eucharist; ease in public settings; Catholic in good standing who has received the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). Have devotion to the scriptures; Ability to comfort people with prayer; a willingness to grow in the Lord's service

Duties: Proclaim God's Word at each Mass and liturgical celebrations with reverence and understanding.
Time: Scheduled as assigned (arrive 20 minutes early), with one formation session Saturday morning, personal time spent in study and reflection on the Word. As coordinator, planning and scheduling eight hours per quarter; four hours each for planning and scheduling Advent, Lent, and Easter.
Special Skills: A love for God's Word and desire to study it more deeply; a clear speaking voice; an ease speaking in front of people; the ability to read well; excellent pronunciation and enunciation

Duties: Welcome worshipers with a warm smile and a greeting; select families to carry gifts at offertory procession; pass baskets at collection time; ensure orderly flow during the entire service; distribute the weekly parish bulletin and other flyers after Mass.
Time: Every Sunday (arrive 30 minutes early), plus initial training and an annual formation session.
Special Skills: Committed; a love of order; an ability to graciously welcome people; desire to assist the pastor, to set the tone for the service with the way we greet our parishioners and guest.

Duties: To establish, maintain and record audible sound and video record of the liturgical celebrations. To provide appropriate lighting for the Pastor, Music Ministers, Musicians and Congregation during Sunday Liturgy, Holyday Masses, Funerals, Memorials, and other services. To videotape special services.
Time: 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning and forty-five (45) minutes before each scheduled Mass or Service. Orientation and training offered.
Special Skills: A love of God, commitment, ability to stay focused during services, ability to work well with others, discipline and willingness to serve.

Duties: Leads the congregation in prayer and praise, through song, as we worship the Lord. To foster full, conscious and active participation during Sunday Liturgy and special services.
Time: 7:30am and 9am Sunday Liturgy
Special Skills: A love of God, a love of singing, discipline, commitment and the ability to be reverent at liturgy
Duties: Assist in medical needs and emergencies that arise during a liturgical celebration at the parish.
Time: All liturgical celebrations and parish activities
