  SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Organize and facilitate activities and/or events, which assist and/or raise the parishioner's consciousness about spreading the Word of the Gospel in the community. Schedule workshops, retreats, and revival based on parishioner's needs.

This committee generally meets quarterly during the Heads of Ministry meeting. The committee chair spends approximately two - three additional hours preparing for committee meetings, typing and distributing minutes. Develop, plan and coordinate special workshops, retreats of day of reflections.

Visioning and having special interest in reaching out to others are skills needed to coordinate the ministries for this committee.

  CURSILLO GROUP REUNION

Duties: Meet on a regular basis for the purpose of sharing with one another the growth that has taken place within each member in the small group. Members of the small group share their spiritual growth as well as, our growth in becoming a person who strives to bring a Christ-like attitude to our environments.

Time: Two hour faith sharing session once a month.

Special Skills: Hospitality, faith-sharing, group facilitation

  ULTREYA

Duties: A monthly opportunity for the members of the Group Reunions to meet with members of other Group Reunions allowing for the Cursillistas to continue, strengthen and grow.

Time: Two hour faith sharing session once a month.

  MEN OF ST TERESA OF AVILA(M.O.S.T.)

Duties: Men spiritually ministering to Men through personal life changing experiences and encouraging our male youths to follow the word of Jesus Christ our Lord & Savior.

Time: Every Third Saturday at 8:30am at STA Parish Life Center

Special Skills: Male age 18 and up

  SODALITY

Duties: To enhance one's spiritual life journey, with Mary as a role model, by serving the church, the community, and your family.

Time: Monthly meetings and rosary recitation

Special Skills: Male/Female age 18 and up; willing to serve God by participating in the Sodality's community projects.

  LIFE IN THE SPIRIT

is an opportunity for each of us to "step away" and take the time to deepen our personal relationship with God ... this experience may change your life!!!

A weekly prayer service is held each Monday evening between 7:00pm and 9:00pm at the church located at 1244 V St. S.E. Washington, D.C. 20020 that assist members in developing a closer relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

There are no special skills necessary; be inviting and welcoming; have the ability to listen , pray, and share your faith.

STA Life in the Spirit ministry schedules and plan an annual healing sercice and conduct Life in the Spirit seminars.

Life in the Spirit seminar deepens a person’s relationship with Jesus Christ; and leads the person to experience an awakening of the gifts and fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT bestowed at Baptism and Confirmation.

Through a series of six two hour sessions consisting of talks, presentations, discussions, song, prayer services, Eucharist and fellowship, the Life in the Spirit Seminar allows the participant to look at God as the Father, the Son and the Spirit. This seminar will help you to develop a better understanding of God, as Father and Son, but especially as the Spirit and the impact the Spirit can have in your life.

The seminar covers topics such as:

  • Pentecost and the Baptismal Promises
  • The Spirit and the Church
  • The Main Prerequisite for Receiving the Spirit
  • The Major Obstacle to Receiving the Spirit: the Flesh and Unforgiveness
  • Receiving New Pentecosts
