Questions For The Week

Who wants to be last? Are you the center of your universe? BULLETIN: August 29,2010

Questions For The Week

Sunday's Gospel, Luke 13:22-30 asks several questions under the larger theme: "Who will enter the Kingdom?" In last Sunday's bulletin we gave you some homework for your prayer group, bible study or family faith night. They were: 1) Will YOU go to Heaven? 2) Why do we have to 'strive' for a gift, and on what terms? 3) Is Jesus' invite to Heaven a "limited time offer"? 4) Are you striving to enter the narrow gate? 5) Are you making every effort? If so, what efforts are they?

That's quite an assignment! Because I like to send the whole parish away with a "Question of the Week" from Sunday's readings I'll ask you to pray over and discuss this: "What are you doing to be in the number when the Saints go marching in?" BULLETIN: August 22,2010

Assumption of Blessed Mother Mary

Do you live in the joy and confidence of God's presence with you through the Holy Spirit? Do you quite yourself long enough to listen to your conscience? Are you attuned to the subtle guidance of your intuition? Are you willing to pray sincerely and then wait quitely for God's response?

Mary was. Mary responded to God's call without hesitation. She acted with unwavering trust and faith.

Trust in the lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and he will guide you on the right paths. --Proverbs 3:5-6

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Are you ready in faith? That is the question we are being asked today. Are you ready to trust in God's promises each day? Do you have confidence in God's promises as a way of life? God has promised through Christ to care for us, to redeem us, to provide for us in His unique way. Tim Zingale "Fear not… for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom…" Luke 12:32
